Appropriated from Eugene Delacroix's "Liberty Leading the People" created in 1830. Part of the Afrofuturism series, this piece depicts my roots and interpolates the original painting commemorating France’s July Revolution of 1830 with the ongoing black revolutions and protests. It shows a sense of liberation from dust that is settling and heads towards the future, with a black woman leading.
